Single Review: "In the Kitchen" Getting Technical With Taki Brano

Updated: Aug 25, 2021

Taki Brano, or Alex Mazzuchelli, is an American producer and engineer

who focuses his style on lo-fi and experimental beats. Taki Brano approaches his production much differently than most by teaching his methods behind creating crispy lo-fi projects, giving mixing tips, and much more. The Rhode Island native takes innovation to a new

level demonstrating how creative a producer can truly be.

"In The Kitchen", Brano’s latest single with Dan Pomfret is a chill vibe. The new single isn't only on Spotify. You can also find it on Youtube along with the making of the song. Listening and seeing these projects, one gets the sense that Brano’s main thread of inspiration is having fun creating.

This is Brano’s latest album, a lo-fi hip hop beat tape called Opposite of Floating. The fifteen-track album features other producers and vocalists such as Tetcon and others. Another recent single, "Blue Clouds" was created with producer Tokari, released on Tsunami Soundz.

Brano also released an 80’s inspired synthwave / retrowave instrumental album earlier this year with producer Diggy Diamond called Horizons. The song named "Bossa Therapy" was a collab with producer Antonio (Ozymandias’ Dream) from Mexico and was in the top 20 tracks on SubmitHub for World Music! The artwork is of Lyle the Therapy Gecko, an Adult Swim-esque humored internet show who Antonio and Brano became friends with through the song.

On his website at TakiBrano.com, there are VSTs (virtual studio technology) released with fellow-collaborator Dan at Reflekt Audio, beats, sample packs created, some of which are on Sounds.com. Take a gander at the incredible resources Brano has created and many of which

are free!
