Powerhouse ska punk band Streetlight Manifesto graces The Wiltern stage in Los Angeles for their Myth of Monsters Tour 2024.
Streetlight Manifesto did not disappoint the fans here in LA. They brought their tachycardia-inducing music to The Wiltern and everyone was singing, mouthing even the horn riffs. Each belting out the words on the top of their lungs.
It was a majestic chorus between the brass winds and the crowd. It felt like a movement, an onwards march. They delivered a punch after punch of the diabolical horns section with the steady beat from the bass and drums. Everything sounded like the record. Except for the fact that they had to stop a section of a song because someone was getting a little rough in the mosh pit. Tomas Kalnoky halted the ensemble as he reminded everyone to "mosh with care". And so, after the dude was escorted outside, armed with a single distortion pedal, he commenced the horn warfare. Everybody danced and sang to the upbeat music.
Overall the show was an energetic injection to that Friday night. A shot of adrenaline for the weekend and the week after that. Streetlight Manifesto will always be that train heading straight into your mortal body. You'll never know what hit ya.
I left the venue with this unexplainable kind of rush. Right away I knew what I was listening to on my way home. Sound the horns!
