Exclusive Interview: The Bobby Lees Keepin' It Real

I caught up with NY-based punk rock fire starters, The Bobby Lees right before they hit the road for their US tour this Spring. Here's what they had to say...

Q:

A: All of us are so self-evidently awesome, you don't need a crystal ball to see that!

Q:

A: We're at a point where planning for everything is done months in advance of action needing to be taken, generally if we have a big tour coming up we'll all meet up right before and spend a few days rehearsing to get in gear. We've all been well out of high school for a few years now so I'm inclined to say not really to the second half of this question. Except for one hilarious incident involving a phillips head screwdriver, a year's supply of unflavored gelatin, a hadron collider, a pair of worn out Adidas Superstars, and a furious donkey.

Q:

A: That's a really good question. It's no secret that with success in this industry comes celebrity and with that its own host of nuanced and difficult to parse professional and interpersonal issues. I think we all just want to be financially stable enough to afford our own gelatin... Never again... Never again...

Q:

A: Artistic expression through performance.

Q:

A: That thing where they put hooks through your back skin and spin you around really fast. Stunts.

Q:

A: Nick Casa. Guitar player of rock band "THE BOBBY LEES"

Q:

A: Playing drums. Practicing along to a lot of different drummers I like, though I didn't get really really serious about practicing until a few years after we started playing together. Parliament, and Ska.

Q:

A: That's like my favorite guy ever. Really really cool.

Q:

A: Thanks for the interview!! Made me really happy to be involved!! Not as happy as I'd be if someone sent over the financial aid to finally get surgically separated from this furious donkey, but we take the little victories!
